Making a Difference

Light Sculpture

·      Is an abstract star design

·      Each point of the star and interior junctions will have a point source of light.

·      The fixture source will be visible in the day and during the night. It will have color changing capabilities.

·      There will be 3 base looks to represent good, moderate and bad air quality. All will shift around from point to point in a random and flowing motion. This will apply to all 3 base looks. We want to keep the color schemes simple so each one can be easily identifiable with the type of air quality that is present at the time but also be an interesting flowing display of color and intensity.

Materials & Dimensions

·      These drawings are not to scale but the dimensions are what we want to look at as possible size to eventually build.

·      The size is based on the solid wall on the apartment wall we plan to use as a backdrop for the sculpture. The sculpture is 18’ X 18’ and is an additional 4’ off the ground. The wall on the apartment building is 18’ wide.

·       The materials, the frame of the star being ½” to 1” rounded square stainless-steel tubing. This would allow us to run the electrical wiring for the fixtures inside the tubing. As for the supports for the star, I felt we should continue to use the same tubing material but larger. The base is cement. All the metal will be rust proof. All struts will be welded to insure strength. The fixtures must be mounted on a flat circular plate.

CREATE

Out-of-school learning opportunities

With this initiative, our goal is to create safe and empowering out of school opportunities to build strong relationships between children, their families and
professional artists. With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential.
